9 Mile Coffee Co || Schroon Lake, NY

Schroon Lake is located in the Adirondacks, about half an hour north of Lake George and an hour south of Lake Placid. It is much quieter than either of the other towns, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a cute coffee shop on the main road in town - 9 Mile Coffee Co.  Their name comes from the size of the lake, which is 9 miles long.

The exterior of the shop looked like a cabin, albeit a very new cabin. There were a couple tables on the front patio.  Inside, there was a ton of wood detail and some seating.  The majority of the front end of the shop was filled with people standing in line.

We stopped by on a Saturday morning in July and the coffee shop was super busy, with the line snaking inside.  It took about 20 minutes to reach the front of the line and we saw many people walk into the shop and turn around once they saw how many people were waiting.  There were only three people that I could see who were working - one cashier, one barista, one cook - so the wait was understandable.  We were not in a rush so the line wasn’t a problem.

I ordered a hot vanilla latte ($7) and my boyfriend ordered an americano ($4.25).  The vanilla syrup (as well as some of their other syrups) was house made and super delicious.  Both coffees were well made.  The prices were a little higher than what we were used to, but this was the only coffee shop in the area so it made sense.

If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping at 9 Mile Coffee Co!
